Mass Effect: Apollo is a game I made for the National Game Design Month (NaGaDeMon) challenge. The mechanics are completely original, designed from the ground up to celebrate the things about Mass Effect that make the setting unique. I've also taken the time to put together character sheets in a custom system builder on Foundry, so while a Game System doesn't exist yet, we can still use the best VTT around! While there is a "mission plot" to drive what your characters are doing, I am looking for people willing to "playtest" rather than just "play." I have no idea how balanced anything will be, if at all. I have a vision for the right amount of difficulty and lethality, and I aimed to see that vision through, but there's no telling how well I pulled it off until we start rolling dice. What would be ideal is if you come into this with a "debugging" attitude. Don't be afraid to ask me to shake things up. "What would this fight be like if that enemy had 3 less points of armor? Or did 5 more damage?" or "Can we run that scene again, but add another Brute?" or "What if this power had a bigger cooldown?" I want to see what works, what doesn't, and why. So I'm hoping to find people interested in doing the same. My goal is around 2hrs~ for this session. I will be willing to add extra time if we want. You can drop whenever you need to though as this is a non-traditional game, it doesn't matter much to me if you need to go strictly on the 2hr mark. Game is rated 18+ just for maturity sake, not for any explicit or adult themes.
There is a document of the rules so far that I will hand out after you join the Discord. Reading it isn't necessary, I will walk through the game with you when it starts. Don't worry about being unfamiliar, nobody else at the table will have any experience with this game either.
